Strongest Supporting Argument

Television violence should be toned down because of the major effects it has on its viewers. 75% of television programs have some form of violence in them, making them almost impossible to avoid. Although they seem harmless, it had been proven that viewing violent shows has major negetive effects on viewers. Watching violent tv shows as young as 8 can lead to agressive behavior as a teen and adult. Adults who watched violent tv shows as children are likely to be involved in theft or even murder. Viewing violent shows for only an hour can also lead to violence and hostility towards others, anti-social behavior, insecurity, fear, and the inability to trust others. It is clear that violent tv shows have a negetive impact on viewers. Doesn't it make sense to tone it down?

Your argument is very convincing. However, it the research paper, I suggest that you give the source information within the arguement to give it some authority. This will help your arguement sound stronger, and will help it to be more persuasive as well. Again, I suggest that you look into that film I suggested earlier, Advertising and the End of the World. If you cannot find it, I suggest going to Sut Jhally's website, which you could probably find on Google. Other than that, you are doing great, and will probably have a wonderful research paper.

I really think that you will have no trouble persuading and supporting your argument. One thing you might want to look at for some information and evidence is if there is any type of statistic that can show an increase of bullying in schools, or violence in schools, because I think the two are closely related. I look forward to reading your other arguments, because unfortunatley I think some of the statistics and information will be shocking. Hopefully it will open people's eyes.
